The sun is out and there is a slight breeze. That's pretty good when you consider it's December in Colorado. We get our group together and head for the upper fields where the trap range is located. We will be tuning up for the pheasant hunt. Beginners and experts all take turns blasting some clays out of the sky. Everyone is ready to head over to the fields and see how they do with the pheasants. We gather the dogs and start out in the grass. The birds pop up, some fly to safety, and some will end up on the dinner table. More importantly, everyone is having a good time being outdoors watching the gun dogs work and the Trac chairs cover the terrain with ease. After the hunt we go back down to the clubhouse for a great lunch. A big thanks to the staff of Valhalla Hunt Club, the volunteers, and Craig Hospital.
