Deer Hunt at Nebrado Farms, Holyoke, CO 10/25 - 10/26/18

Alan Strong has been a big supporter of River Deep Alliance for years. He hosts dove, pheasant, duck and deer hunts on his farm and on some of his neighbors land as well. Today, Alan Strong will be taking two Vets on a buck and doe deer hunt. The hunt begins on Saturday morning and ends on Saturday morning. Both Vets have their bags filled, have harvested some nice deer and will have some healthy meat for the freezer...and all before lunch time.

A big thanks to Alan Strong and his family, Operation TBI Freedom, Ft. Carson WTB, and the staff and volunteers who made this hunt a success!

Trap Shooting and Lunch for Craig Hospital
It's warm and windy on the plains. We have a big group from Craig Hospital anxious to shoot some clays. We have Trac chairs and adaptive equipment for the participants to use. We also have mechanical engineering students from the Colorado School of Mines who will be working with the adaptive equipment and researching ways to improve its functionality. The students will go back to the drawing board to work on the equipment, and we are all looking forward to seeing the new and improved version. The patient's, family members, volunteers and staff are having fun on the trap range. It's close to lunch time so we head to the clubhouse for some pheasant casserole and side dishes and finish up with homemade cookies. We head back out to the trap range for a fun afternoon of clay shooting.

A big thanks to Vahalla Hunt Club, Craig Hospital, the Colorado School of Mines mechanical engineering students, staff, volunteers, and Task Force ISO for the great pictures.

Antelope Hunt, Limon, CO 10/9 - 10/11/18

Antelope Hunt in Limon, CO
It is a cold snowy morning on the plains of Colorado, a little unusual for mid-October. We have seven vets and soldiers anxious to put some meat in the freezer with the help of a great group of guides that have donated their time. Seven hunters head out to the fields after some great breakfast burritos that the guides prepared. Some of the vets have never hunted big game, but everyone is excited and having a good time getting to know the guides and other vets.

It's a great hunt with 100% success in harvesting antelope for the table. A big thanks to everyone who helped make this hunt possible.

It is our last fly fishing outing of the season. The weather is overcast and cold, but everyone is dressed warm and anxious to fish. We started with some of the basics of fly fishing. Next comes the waders and gear. Each participant paired up with one of the guides and hit the river. The Craig Hospital participants will arrive shortly and will be fishing one of the ponds with patients and their family members. The fishing is challenging but we managed to land a few trout. It has been a great morning. We all headed up to the deck for a warm meal prepared by Jim & Nick's barbecue and exchanged fish stories.

A big thanks to all the guides, volunteers, participants, organizations, Jim & Nicks barbecue and all the wonderful people who made this a great outing.
