Wild Game Cooking Class Hosted by Speciality Appliance and Chef Leslie Fangman, Greenwood Village, CO. 4/29/18

Speciality Appliance was very generous in donating their kitchen and showroom for our first Wild Game cooking class this past Sunday with participants from Operation TBI Freedom and Ft. Carson Warrior Transition Battalion (WTB). Chef Leslie Fangman instructed the group, using the best appliances and cutting utensils to demonstrate. She presented recipes from her cookbook, "The Art of Cooking Wild Game," using elk, antelope and salmon as the main focus for the class. She also discussed upland birds, fish and other wild game recipes.

All of the Vets who attended the class are outdoorsmen and are looking forward to using the skills they learned in the class on their harvests from the outdoors. There were plenty of questions for Chef Leslie and the food was fantastic. Everyone had a great time learning, eating and conversing with one another. A big thanks to Chef Leslie Fangman, Speciality Appliance and all the volunteers.

Archery and Lunch, Wheat Ridge, CO. 4/15/18

Over this past weekend, we had a good group of participants who have all been to RMS Gear at least once before, so they have the archery basics down. We can always count on the expert instructors from RMS Gear in Wheat Ridge. Everyone used the traditional recurve bows, including the kids who always have a great time.

Everyone is on the line with arrows flying, the group is shooting and doing great with the RMS Gear instructors making sure all are improving on their archery skills. We were served a delicious lunch thanks to Hardi and Kim, owners of The Ranch at West 40 restaurant in Lakewood. It's been another fun day at RMS Gear. A big thanks to Tom and the staff at RMS Gear, Craig Hospital, Hardi and Kim at The Ranch at West 40 restaurant in Lakewood, and all the volunteers.
