Archery Lesson & Lunch, Wheat Ridge, CO. 2/25/18

This past weekend, River Deep and SCI HOP hosted an archery event at RMS Gear for Craig Hospital and Operation TBI Freedom. Tom and the expert staff from RMS Gear instructed our group on both recurve and compound bows. We had a big group of wounded warriors and Craig Hospital patients, all enthusiastic and ready for some fun on the range. Arrows flew and smiles were everywhere as all the archers received one-on-one skilled instruction. From the looks on their faces, many have found a new sport.

It's a great day and going to get better thanks to Hardi and Kim, owners of The Ranch at West 40 restaurant in Lakewood. They provided a Mexican gourmet lunch for everyone at the event. What an amazing time had on Sunday!

A big thanks to Tom and the staff at RMS Gear, Craig Hospital, The Ranch at West 40 restaurant in Lakewood, and all the volunteers.

Trap Shooting & Pheasant Hunt, Bennett, CO. 2/17/18

This past weekend River Deep and SCI HOP, hosted patients and staff from Craig Hospital. Saturday was a warm, sunny day with a slight breeze. A perfect day to be outside having fun trap shooting, chasing pheasants, and all of us watching the dogs work the field doing what they enjoy most.

We have an experienced group of patients from Craig Hospital, all are bird hunters and from all areas across the country. We start with a tune up at the trap range. Everyone gets dialed in quickly and then it's down to the lodge for a great lunch. After lunch, it was time to gather the dogs, volunteers and hunters and head out to the grass fields. There were two hunters shooting at a time while the dogs went to work, and the pheasants flew. Some pheasants ended up in the game bag, and some flew to another zip code. This day was about being outdoors and enjoying the surroundings while having fun. The pheasants were a bonus, and everyone had a great time.

A big thanks to the Valhalla Hunt Club, all the volunteers and Craig Hospital.
